  • Rwanda Coko

Surrounded by larger coops and wet mills lies the relatively unknown Coko (CHO-co) washing station. It's located in the highest parts of the Gakenke District and run by the small, mainly female Twongerekawa Coko cooperative society. Coffee from Coko is from an unusually high altitude (2000+ masl), which translates into slowly ripened, juicy beans that have both a typically Rwandan black tea-like finish and sweet taste notes of citrus.

  • Colombia Tolima - Astrid Medina

Cafisur has a very well functioning lab, good cuppers and quality control system that ensure total traceability. They do a preselection to approve the basic quality parameters, before Nordic Approach cup all the approved samples and decide for purchase, and what to blend in to medium sized lots, or what to keep as small separate lots. Nordic Approach is paying premiums to the growers based on the scoring. These premiums are going entirely back to the growers. Tolima has its main harvest around June, so all this co ees are really fresh harvested June/July. Unlike other regions like Huila they are mainly having one har- vest period per year.

  • Ethiopia Guji - Magarissa

This coffee is from a private producer in the Kebele (small town) called Danbi Uddo and is made up from cherry deliveries from smallholder farmers in the Guji area. It’s a Grade 1, meaning the producers have put a lot of effort into the selection and grading during processing.
